Many people know about Martin Luther
King Jr. He is famous for be a civil rights activist, and standing up
for what he believed in. However, there are far more unknown and
intriguing facts about him that the majority of people don't know.
Everyone
knows that King was assassinated in 1968. But did you know that he
survived two other near-death experiences? First, when he was
twelve, he jumped out of a second story window after learning that
his grandmother had died. Secondly, a year before he actually died,
a lady stabbed him with a letter opener.
Dr.
King also has a lot of positive characteristics. He stood up for what
he believed in, made a difference, and showed the world that the
color of your skin doesn't change who you are. Like him, we all can
make a difference, and the Rescue Rangers are doing just that. You
can help us make a difference too, by donating books that we can give
to the Children Hospitals. Every little thing counts! Make a
difference now, like Martin Luther King Jr. did in the past, and
donate a book to brighten a child's day!
