How Volcano's Form by Hana Hubert

Volcano's form when hot magma beneath the crust of the Earth hits a weak spot in the crust. That allows the magma to erupt, venting heavy pressure that built up under the crust. The weak spots are often along the boundaries of tectonic plates. Two of the plates come together and meet. The plate with more momentum or weight rises above, and the other is pressed downward into the earth. The plate being pushed down causes an imbalance of pressure and temperature, which makes the magma and gases to erupt with enhanced force. The damage a volcano can cause is tremendous. Homes and animals are coated in ash, and the surrounding area is ruined. I'm thankful that I don't live in an area where volcanoes are present, but plenty of people do. 11 people died from the 2014 Indonesian volcano, and many more may have. We the Rescue Rangers are doing our part to help those affected by the volcano, so please donate, come to our bake sales, and attend our events!
